The new site’s been live for two months, and most of you seem to dig it. Big ups to Phong for his ace design and deep-math chops…and for having superhuman patience in dealing with email avalanches and a certain partner’s micromanagement tendencies.

But there’s one thing I’ve noticed from the stats — whether from an assumption of redundant work pimping or wanky V-blog rants, most of you ain’t scoping the VIDEO gallery. Which is a damn shame. So I wanted I’d use this post to showcase a (hopefully) fresh mix of recent and classic clips for maximum visual satisfaction. 😀

Let’s start up top with the header clip, which is also the Featured Video when you scroll down the home page — The Pilgrimage. We shot this mini-pilot in central Thailand last summer at the request of a travel-centric cable network. They seemed to think that yours truly wouldn’t suck at guiding folks on fun and frenzied ‘spiritual journeys’ around the world. My weary ass was up for the challenge, but I’ll let you be the judge of whether this face should stick to radio…

Next up is one for the bucket list — a 60min interview in VIC’S BASEMENT! I’ve been mates with Victor Lucas going on 20 years, and was preaching the EPN game-journalism gospel long before he won a goddamn Emmy. The stars finally aligned for our very own chat, and we dove deep to cover everything from our parallel career paths, OZ: Broken Kingdom and the Iron Maiden game, my tour of duty at EA, and continued collaborations with David Kaye. It’s a must-watch, though I hope you’ll forgive the janky AV (thanks to Morocco’s draconian telecom rules…which I circumvented with no guilt whatsoever)

And speaking of Mr Kaye, did you hear the amazing news? He was awarded BEST MALE NARRATOR (K-12) at the 2016 Voice Arts Awards in LA last Sunday for his work on The Cats’ Maw Audio Experience! Scope this out, and you’ll soon see (and hear) why this was pretty much a foregone conclusion:

On a sadder feline note — I recently posted a tribute to my beloved companion, Quinn. I’ve been combing through old pics and vids of her every day since, but the lion’s share (intentional) of her best clips are on a drive back in Berlin. Still, I was able to dig up one of her ‘glam cameos’ at the start of this v-blog from my stint in Saskatoon. Feel free to loop the opening, and ignore the buffoonery that follows…

Clearly, the prairies were a ‘weird time’ for me…and that’s saying something. Need more proof? Then fire up this absurd short I hacked together in the first Xtranormal engine — FEVER. Some say I’m not a ‘funny’ guy, but I bet the 3:28AM slot on Adult Swim would eat this shit up 😛

Last but not least is this travel-short / tone-poem / music-video from five years back — Fists, Feet, & Friendship 2 which started out as the sequel to a viral muay thai vid I made the year before. The more I cut and mixed the thing, the more it wanted to evolved into a melancholy meditation on my Southeast Asian adventures. I hope you’ll feast your eyes on the limestone towers of Railay Beach, Tiger Temple in Krabi, and the ancient wonders of Angkor Wat…and don’t forget to turn up the volume for a Queen-inspired tune from Canada’s own Bend Sinister.
